Full-time students complete the program in about a year and a half and part-time students complete the program in about 3 years. Unless you need to be full-time (F1 visa, veteran&#8217;s benefits, etc.), you can feel free to enroll in as few (1 credit minimum) or as many courses as you&#8217;d like.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-209\" src=\"https:\/\/ada.ece.uw.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2021\/02\/schedule.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"917\" height=\"339\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wp.ece.uw.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2021\/02\/schedule.png 917w, https:\/\/wp.ece.uw.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2021\/02\/schedule-300x111.png 300w, https:\/\/wp.ece.uw.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2021\/02\/schedule-768x284.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 917px) 100vw, 917px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The 45 credits are comprised of 5-9 credits of EE P 500 (colloquium) and 36-40 elective credits. There are no official concentrations and students can choose their courses based on their personal and professional interests and goals.<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"coursework\"><\/a>Coursework<\/h2>\n<p>The href=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/students\/reg\/2425cal.html\"> quarter system<\/a>, so classes meet for just 10 weeks. Most of our classes are scheduled weekly from 6-9:50 p.m. with a few offered twice a week from 4 p.m. -6 p.m.<\/p>\n<h2>Internship Credit<\/h2>\n<p>Full-time students can receive course credit through ENGR 601 for part-time or full-time internship experiences. Up to 2 credits of ENGR 601 can be utilized towards the degree. International students, please review the <a href=\"https:\/\/wp.ece.uw.edu\/newpmp\/international-students\/\">International Students page<\/a> for information on Curricular Practical Training (CPT).<\/p>\n<h2>Research Credit<\/h2>\n<p>The PMP is a coursework-only degree and students do not complete a thesis. However, our students are able to join research labs and receive research credit through EE P 599 (independent study). ENGINE is a two-quarter sequence (8 credits over Winter and Spring) and will count towards your degree requirements.<\/p>\n<h2>Registration for Fall 2026<\/h2>\n<p>Registration for Fall quarter will open in June. Stay tuned for more information!<\/p>\n<h2>FAQs<\/h2>\n<h4>Can I take courses in other fields or courses in the daytime program?<\/h4>\n<p>Yes, we do allow three classes (12 credits) from outside PMP. This can be from our daytime master&#8217;s program or from a related field outside of the ECE department.<\/p>\n<h4>Can I complete research?
