IEEE WIE invites ECE students to participate in our EmpowerHer peer mentorship program. The initiative pairs students to build connections, share experiences, and support one another’s growth in ECE.

Our Apple x WIE Meet & Greet was an incredible opportunity for members to connect directly with Apple hardware engineers and learn about their experiences in the tech industry. Students got to ask questions, hear insights about working at Apple, and pick up valuable career advice. Huge thanks to the Apple team for joining us! 🍎💜

IEEE WIE Kick Off: Connect with WIE + Vision Board Making

Our first general meeting of the year was such a fun and creative start to the quarter! Members joined us to make their own digital vision boards using Canva and Pinterest, sharing goals, inspirations, and dreams for the year ahead. It was a great chance for new and returning members to meet, chat, and get a feel for what IEEE WIE is all about. We’re so excited to kick off another amazing year together, and can’t wait to see everyone at our upcoming monthly meetings!

EmpowerHer – Kickoff

UW IEEE WIE (Women in Engineering) is starting up a peer mentorship program called EmpowerHer. It is aimed to connect women in UW’s ECE department and develop community among the undergraduate + graduate students. 

Industry Panel

February 27th, 2025

Our first industry panel! We have heard from amazing professionals who shared their personal stories, career journeys, and honest advice about navigating challenges in the workplace. They talked about everything from overcoming gender bias to finding balance and building confidence in male-dominated spaces. It was great to see so many students engaged in thoughtful conversations and connecting with the panelists afterward.
