We hope to make it better by using sensors to enable dynamic control over stimulation parameters. <a title=\"Closed-Loop DBS\" href=\"http:\/\/brl.ee.washington.edu\/?page_id=40\"><em>Read More<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Brain Computer Interface Optimization<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Greater understanding of how users adapt to control BCIs as well as providing enhanced sensory feedback will improve rates of learning and reduce the user burden of BCI control. <a title=\"BCI Optimization\" href=\"http:\/\/brl.ee.washington.edu\/?page_id=42\"><em>Read More<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Gestureless Touchscreen Interfaces<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Individuals with disabilities that result in lack of finger dexterity\u00a0due to\u00a0arthritis, tremor, paralysis, or amputation are effectively locked out of the touchscreen based technology that is common on\u00a0phones, tablets, and\u00a0computers. We are working on methods to give access to these mobile devices without the need for\u00a0finger dexterity.\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/brl.ee.washington.edu\/neural-engineering\/gestureless-touchscreen-interface\/\">Read More<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Quantifying Human Cyber-Physical System Interactions<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Human interaction with the physical world is increasingly mediated by intelligent machines, such as surgical robots and active prostheses \/ orthoses.
