Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Bioengineering. Prospective students are encouraged to apply through one of these departments; the BioRobotics Lab does not admit students directly. Joining the BioRobotics Lab as a graduate researcher depends on whether the lab\u2019s faculty advisors currently have the time and funds to commit to mentoring a graduate student as well as the individual student\u2019s skills and fit for the proposed project. Admitted graduate students who have found their own sources of funding (through applying for and receiving an NSF\/NDSEG\/other graduate fellowship) make it easier for our faculty advisors to say yes!<\/p>\n<p>Admitted graduate students who are interested in working in the BioRobotics Lab can set up meetings during their department\u2019s visit days with Howard Chizeck, Blake Hannaford, or Sam Burden depending on which projects are of interest to them.
